To get to where Ana and Allan got married, you had to earn it. An hour of hiking up into the Sierra Nevada, in July, in the heat of the California summer. Nobody complained. It was the same spot where they had their first date, and they wanted their wedding to happen nowhere else.
There was something honest about that. The effort of getting there said something about the people who made it. By the time we reached the spot, with the mountain air and the light coming in from every direction, it felt less like a wedding and more like a secret the mountains had agreed to keep.
We shot both indoors and outside that day. The mountains were never just a backdrop. They were very much part of the story.
