Church light is its own kind of light. High windows, filtered and soft, the kind that lands on people in a way that is hard to reproduce anywhere else. Timmy's baptism was held in the church with forty to fifty people gathered, family and friends who had come to mark a moment that mattered to them.
These sessions require a different kind of presence than a wedding or a birthday. You are quieter, more patient, more careful about when and where you move. The ceremony has its own pace and you work within it, not around it.
The images from a baptism tend to be still in a way that suits them. The light cooperated completely.
