Some of my favorite weddings are the ones with almost nothing in them. No grand venue, no hundreds of guests, no program with twelve line items. Just the two people who actually matter, a few close friends, and a courthouse that had no idea how significant a Tuesday afternoon was about to be.
Katherine and Joaquin wanted it this way. Small, intentional, just for them. After the ceremony we walked outside and did a casual shoot. Emotions were running high in the way they only do when the moment is not being performed for a room. It was real, and you could feel it.
These are honestly some of the best sessions I do. When people stop trying to make it look a certain way and just let it be what it is, something true shows up in the photographs.
