Rachel wore her mother's dress. That detail set the tone for everything else. The hair was tight and precise, very 1980s, very intentional. Chris had styled his the same way. They drove a classic Chevy convertible to the shoot, an old car that moved slowly and looked exactly right in the Thousand Oaks light.
This was not an aesthetic trend they had seen online. It was personal. The dress had a history. The car had a history. They brought it all together and asked me to photograph it, and I was glad to be there for it.
They had no particular expectations and that is often when the best sessions happen. Easy couple, good instincts, a location that knew how to hold the whole thing.
